Historical NotesSamuel Jacobson was from Homestead, Pennsylvania and a member of the Homestead Hebrew Rodef Sahlom Congregation. He was the co-owner of the Gordon-Jacobson car dealership, which sold Plymouths and Chryslers. This portrait was one of several done around 1947 as payment for a bill. The artist, Jack Moranz, was born and raised in Homestead, PA. Moranz was a veteran of World War I and a nationally known newspaper illustrator and portraitist. Donor Blair Jacobson is the son of Samuel Jacobson.
