Historical NotesThis table saw was built and used by Dominic Marco Del Monte, an Italian immigrant from Sulmona in the region of Abruzzo. He migrated to McKees Rocks, PA with his father, who had traveled back and forth between Italy and the United States four times. According to his son, John Del Monte, Dominic was incredibly handy and could build anything out of raw material. He was a laborer at Lee C. Moore in Neville Island; he eventually was promoted to electrical engineer after successfully outfitting the company’s machine shop. His son, John Del Monte, is a notable fine artist in Western Pennsylvania and has used the table saw for various art projects, including cutting wood for frames.
