DescriptionScratch-built table saw from remnants of lumber. Grinding wheel arbor with circular saw attached. Ribbon with small electrical motor on shelf below. Blade protrudes through one of two slots in top of table. Possibly a second belt hooked up for driving other machines.Dimensions38.5 x 32 x 20 in. (97.8 x 81.3 x 50.8 cm)Historical NotesHomemade table saw built and used by Giovanni Mazzucco, an Italian immigrant from Pelos di Cadore, Provincia di Belluno, Veneto, Italy, who settled in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, around 1925. Mazzucco mostly worked as a carpenter, repairing area houses, but he did use this saw for other fun projects: one in particular was to build a toy Ferris wheel. The saw uses a reconditioned Westinghouse motor.
