Historical NotesThe Brashear plaque was made by the donor Sara Marshall’s mother-in-law, Sue Watson Marshall, who attended Carnegie Institute of Technology in the late teens. She is purportedly one of the first woman to graduate from the school. Included in the archival donation are some images of her and her classmates and some clippings. She majored in sculpture and went on to have a successful career making monuments for local bridges and cemeteries. She also drew for medical journals, she would draw operations she observed and do detailed organ drawings.
