DescriptionWall decoration. Ornamental wood frame with carved scrollwork. Frame is painted green on the front. Diamond-shaped opening at center of frame contains green velvet fabric and a gold painted wood relief carving at center. The relief carving has scrollwork on each side and a man's head in profile at center; the man is wearing a helmet.Dimensions10 x 9.938 x 1.125 in. (25.4 x 25.2 x 2.9 cm)
InscriptionsHandwritten in pencil at the top of the backer is "112".
Historical NotesPart of a collection of Serbian artifacts. Vinka Ellesin was a folk singer who sang Serbian music in the sevdalinka style. The Serbian community in the United States referred to her as the "Queen of Sevdalinka."
