Historical NotesThis sign is from the Obama campaign headquarters for his 2012 presidential reelection campaign. The donor, at the time Abe Shimm, was the Regional Field Operations Director for Obama for America from June 2011 through 2012. The Field Office was located at 1410 Smallman St. Abe was the first staff person hired for the campaign in Western Pa. They put the sign up for the opening of the office (the first in the region) and they had a party with about 400 to 500 people. Over 100 people signed it, including all the people who worked on the campaign and Vice President Joe Biden when he was in town on St. Patrick’s Day 2012 for the parade and a rally. Abe’s job consisted of training and managing the staff of 13 and operating seven offices across Southwest PA. The Southwest Pa region was the largest regional organization in the state.
