Historical NotesPurchased from artist Jess Hager, through World West Galleries, Washington, PA.Label Text Aerial Image of U.S. Steel building, by Jess Hager, watercolor, 1970 Hager went up in a helicopter to gain the perspective for this work, painted to mark the building of U.S. Steel's new corporate headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh. Constructed of COR-TEN steel, the 62-story building became not just a local landmark when completed, but the tallest building between New York and Chicago.
