Historical NotesHandmade apron used on the Anderson farm in Brookline. Part of a collection from the Anderson Farm which was located in what is now the Brookline neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The farm was started around 1890 by Mary and James Anderson, the donor’s paternal great grandparents. The donor believes it was the last working farm in city limits. The family sold the last of the land in 1930 to the Brookline Community Center. Mary and James’ son William had a son named William Jr. who is the donor’s father.
