Historical NotesDonor Stella Kourniotis' mother, Assunta Chieffa, brought this native dress from Nocera Terinese (Catanzaro, Calabria) in Italy to America when she immigrated in 1948 at the age of 18. She lived in Braddock and her husband worked in a mill for U.S. Steel.
