Historical NotesThis silver chest was given to Evelyn Maude Fawell, on June 22, 1901, as a wedding gift. It housed large service of Towle's Colonial pattern silverware. Evelyn Maude Fawell married Howard Salisbury Evans. They had three children: Thomas, Evelyn, and Laura.Label TextSterling silver and oak chest opens to reveal buff colored silk damask lining. Three drawers open on front. Each drawer features utensil rests lined with silk damask. Chest contains collection of sterling silver tablespoons, teaspoons, forks, spoons, luncheon knives, luncheon forts, dessert forks, dessert spoons, dinner forks, dinner knives, butter knives, butter knives, butter server, soup spoons, sugar spoons, serving spoons, ladle, sauce ladles, as wells as sterling silver demitasse spoons, oyster forks, mustard spoon, berry spoons, salt spoon, carving steel, carving forks, carving knives, sauce ladles, cold-meat forks, iced-tea spoons, bouillon spoons, fruit knives, fruit forks, fish forks, and fish knives. Also included in the chest are four watercolor drawings showing the layout of silverware in a drawer
