DescriptionBank in the shape of a Waldman's Meats Inc. delivery truck. Handpainted wood truck with brown, black, and red sides. Four black wood wheels with red axles and yellow flowers with green leaves on sides. Top has slot for coins. Front, back, and top are decorated with yellow flowers, green leaves, and a red heart. Sides are brown and have an white oval area with an illustration of a butcher with surrounding text describing the business. Front and back have gold text describing the business and license plates. Underside is painted red and has a hole near the back of the truck that is covered with a square piece of wood that swivels via a screw in one corner.Dimensions4 x 4.25 x 6.125 in. (10.2 x 10.8 x 15.6 cm)SignedArtist signature and date painted in gold on the underside near the proper right front wheel "VERMA / '85".

Historical NotesBank related to Waldman's Meats, Inc. of New Castle, Pennsylvania. The donor Bruce Waldman's parents, Martin and Edith Waldman, founded Waldman’s Meats in New Castle in 1947. Martin passed away in 1983 and Edith in 2012. Edith worked as a bookkeeper, clerk, and advisor. The donor also worked in the store. Waldman’s Meat Company sent prepared and frozen meats to restaurants, hotels, and institutions in the greater Pittsburgh area. The Waldman’s were members of the Tifereth Israel Synagogue, now Temple Hadar Israel.
