Historical NotesAbraham Lincoln Campaign ribbon from the 1864 Presidential election, featuring the name of his running mate, Andrew Johnson, in his second Presidential Election campaign; his opponent was General George B. McClellan. Johnson, of course, would replace Lincoln as President after Lincoln's assassination on April 15, 1865. The artifacts were originally donated to HSWP in March of 1961 but were never accessioned. They were found in 2009 while going through the old collection.
