Historical NotesPin related to Masonic membership to which John Britton Remley (1844-1914), a Pittsburgh businessman and Civil War veteran, belonged. Part of a collection that documents Mr. Remley's business, social, and fraternal activities. Married twice with several children, John Britton Remley was at one time involved in the shoe industry and was also a grocer. In addition to his businesses, he was a member of the Tancred Commandery No. 48, which was a Pittsburgh Knights Templar branch, and the Young Men's Republican Club of Pittsburgh.
