DescriptionSet of eight (8) dinner plates. Porcelain, yellow glaze, rimmed shape with scalloped rim. Front has raised gold floral filigree band with sunflowers along rim. At 12:00 position on rim are gold "WW" interlocking with six platinum dots to form a crown and below are gold "ME" interlocking. Center has raised gold oak and acorn wreath with pheasant perched on a branch in center. Dimensionsa) 9.375in (diameter)

At 12:00 position on rim are gold "WW" interlocking with six platinum dots to form a crown and below are gold "ME" interlocking.
Marks(a-h)
Back has stamp at center: in brown pigment there is a crown above a globe with "MINTONS" on a banner across the middle and below "TIFFANY & CO / NEW YORK".

Historical NotesDonated by Alicia M. Westinghouse, on August 11, 1987, to the George Westinghouse Museum, who transferred the material to the Heinz History Center when the museum closed in 2007. Circa 1900; the service was made by the Minton Company and retailed by Tiffany & Co in New York City. Each piece of the saffron-colored glazed porcelain is decorated with a very elaborate raised gold outer border, as well as a central medallion; each bearing the monogram of Marguerite Erskine Walker Westinghouse-the superimposed ME beneath the entwined WW-appearing as a royal crest. [Source: Michael Malley] The backstamp was use by Minton, a Stoke, Staffordshire, England, pottery manufacturer. This particular mark was used from 1873-1912.
