DescriptionNavy blue mesh hat with black brim and gold leaf stitching. Gold badge of Pittsburgh's coat of arms surrounded by a laurel wreath is on the front. Blue and gold checkered hat band (Sillitoe Tartan) with a yellow band across the front. Band is affixed with two gold buttons that have name of city department around the city's coat of arms. On underside is a brown inner band and a clear plastic sleeve with the maker's mark on it.Dimensions6 x 33 in. (15.2 x 83.8 cm)InscriptionsBand is affixed with two gold buttons that read: "PITTSBURGH / PUBLIC SAFETY" around the city's coat of arms.

Historical NotesMayer DeRoy served on the Pittsburgh Police force from 1960-1992 and the Homestead Police force from 1992-1995. He served as Pittsburgh Police Chief from May 17, 1990 to June 15, 1992. From 1992-1995 he was the Chief of the Homestead Police. Part of the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association collection.
