Historical NotesDrawstring bag used by Jeanette Hawkins Ferry, a socialite in Pittsburgh in the early 1900s. The Hawkins family lived in Shadyside. In 1907, Jeannette Hawkins Ferry married D. M. Ferry, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan. The wedding took place in the bride's parent's home on Morewood Avenue, Shadyside, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Once married, the newlyweds moved to the husband's native city of Detroit, Michigan.
