DescriptionGrey pewter trophy in the shape of a water pitcher. Circular base, round body, cylindrical neck, widens at mouth. Lip higher than rest of rim. Line decorations under rim and on base. Handle decorated with incised lines and swirls. Dimensions9.375 x 9 in. (23.8 x 22.9 cm)

MarksEngraved stamp on bottom of trophy: "REED & BARTON / 5200 / [image of sailboat]".
Historical NotesTrophy awarded to William C. Swartz, Jr. (1919-1939), a native of Dormont, Pa. He attended Dormont High School and was recognized for his skills as an accomplished squash player. He went on to attended the University of Pittsburgh where he won many championships; this trophy was given to him by the Pittsburgh Squash Raquets Association (PSRA). Later that same year, Swartz caught pneumonia and died at the age of 20.
