InscriptionsFront has a double circle imprinted--outer circle reads "STERLING WHITE LEAD COMPANY / PITTSBURGH". Inner circle of text reads "OUR / STERLING / WHITE LEAD IS.....FOUND IN WHITE LEAD / BEARING OUR NAME / (script) Sterling White Lead Co.". Inner top cover has pencil writing "Roy A. Hunt / IV FORM / '97" First page of notebook reads "STERLING WHITE....../ [script] The above is my handwriting & is IV Forum / '99 / meaning I had this / [illegible] in the 4th forum / at Shady Side Acadmy. / I was graduated from / S.S.A. in June 1899 -- / the '99 [illegible] class of 1899 / So I had this / during the school year / between Sept. 1896 + / June 1897. See calendar / [illegible] / Roy A. Hunt / 7/18/44. ".

Historical NotesAn advertising notebook used by Roy Hunt in 4th Forum at Shady Side Academy in 1896. Further writing in notebook notes the Mr. Hunt used the notebook during the 1896-1897 school year. (Note--inventory indicates documentation--not found.) Found in Arthur Vining Davis's trunk.Label TextAn aluminum notebook used by Roy Hunt, son of Pittsburgh Reduction Company’s first president, Alfred E. Hunt, as a promotional item. Hunt used the notebook while in school at Shady Side Academy.
