DescriptionColorless glass tumbler with original box. Tumbler: Rim and body convex slightly. Two seams. Three horizontal flutes at bottom. Rectangular cardboard box with flip top. Blue screen printed text on top and sides describes maker and product. On outside face, under flap is product description bookended by image of male glassblower. Five cardboard dividers loose inside box.Dimensions(a) Height: 3.875 ; Width at Rim: 2.75 ; Width at Base: 2.25

Circular maker's stamp on base "[outside circle] THE GRANT PAPER BOX COMPANY / Pittsburgh Pa. / [inside circle] GPB / CO. / QUALITY BOXES".
Historical NotesMacbeth glass tumbler with original box. Macbeth Evans Glass Company formed in 1899 with the combination of two smaller glass works that specialized in lamp chimneys; they started to produce tumblers in the 1920s. In 1937, they were bought by Corning Glass Works of New York, but continued to operate under the same name until the late 1940s.
