Historical NotesDonated by the Honorable James M. Magee in October, 1923 Label TextThis oil painting shows the City Hall of Allegheny City (now the North Side.) Built in 1834 and located south of Ohio Street, the building was torn down in 1864 to make way for a new City Hall and buildings for the upcoming Sanitary Fair. The artist, a resident of Allegheny City, worked as a telegraph operator in the new City Hall.
