DescriptionArmy green military jacket, Eisenhower style. The jacket has two breast pockets on the front that close with a brown button. There is a flap that folds over the button to hide it slightly. The Jacket itself has five brown buttons down the front and one clasp to keep the bottom hem closed. Under the end of the proper right collar is a brown button, this coincides the button strap that sits under the proper left lapel. Above the proper right breast pocket there is a diamond shaped patch with a gold bird. The patch is a WWII Honorable Discharge Patch. At the top of the proper right sleeve there is a shoulder strap comes to a point under the collar and attaches with a brown button. Along the proper right arm of the jacket, on the shoulder is a red and blue insignia with a green border. This patch is was for the 76th Infantry Division. At the bottom of the proper right sleeve there are two buttons to keep the cuff closed at two varying severity. At the top of the proper left sleeve there is a shoulder strap, the strap stops right under the collar and is attached with a brown button. Along the proper left arm of the jacket working down is a red and blue oval insignia patch. This is the patch of the 30th Infantry Division. There is white thread sewn through the patch to keep it on the jacket. The next patch down is a black and green chevron patch denoting the rank of Private. At the bottom of the proper left sleeve are two patches, the top patch is one of two gold bars denoting that the wearer served overseas for two 6 month tours. The black and green patch below that denotes that the wearer served in the military for three years. At the end of the proper left sleeve there are two buttons that are designed to keep the cuff closed. On the bottom back hem, on the proper left and right are two buckles to allow the wearer a tighter fit at the waist.Dimensions20.25 x 32.063 in. (51.4 x 81.4 cm)
InscriptionsInside of the jacket along the collar there is a label that reads "38R".
Underneath that there is the inscription on the yoke "WALTER / FISHER / 3328 2083".

Inside of the proper right sleeve there is an inscription: "SMW 808 / SMW 808"; both of the inscriptions inside of the sleeve have a rectangular box symbol between the SMW and 808.
MarksInside, of the interior proper right pocket: "Jackets, Field, Wool, O.D. / Stock No. 55-1-384-640 / 38R / NEWELL CLOTHING CO. / P. O. No. 12019 / Dated June 9. 1944 / Pattern Dated 5/10/44 / Spec. P. O. D. No. 437 / Phila. Q. M. Depot / Inspector".
Historical NotesPart of a collection that documents the Fisher, Keltz, and Kenyon families. The majority of the collection is related to the WWII service of brothers Walt and Robert Fisher. Walter Fisher was in the Airborne, Medical Corps and served in Germany.
