DescriptionHalter-style black velvet vest almost entirely covered by raised gold and silver-colored metal braided geometric appliqued designs. Rectangular front opening edged with fourteen large, ovoid gold braid covered buttons with sets of pink coral beads and smaller ovoid buttons at tips. Two small gold ovoid buttons and loop closures at bottom; black wool band.Dimensions14 x 11 in. (35.6 x 27.9 cm)
Historical NotesBride's vest from Albanian wedding costume. Transferred from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (CMNH), originally donated on May 18, 1948, by Mrs. Frank R. Denton (Miss Pauline Glickman?).
