(94 x 82.6 cm)Historical NotesMary Skelton Holmes was born in 1815 and died in 1852. She was married to Dr. Shepley Ross Holmes, a prominent physician in the city of Pittsburgh who was also known for his ability to ride and train horses. Dr. Holmes was born in 1791 in Allegheny County and died of consumption in 1853. The couple are buried in Allegheny Cemetery.
