Historical NotesBaseball autographed by Ralph Kiner and Stan Musial. The ball was most likely autographed for donor's brothers at a game, where the Pirates played against the St. Louis Cardinals, at Forbes Field. Ralph Kiner played outfield for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1946-1953. He was chosen for the All-Star team for six years in a row (1948-1953). He was traded to the Chicago Cubs and ended his career in 1955 with the Cleveland Indians. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1975; the Pirates retired his number 4 in 1987. Stan Musial was born in Donora, Pa. From 1941-1963, he played his entire baseball career as an outfielder/first baseman with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also the Cardinals General Manager from 1966-67 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969.
