Historical NotesThe Honorable Boies Penrose (Republican) was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1884, serving until 1897. During that time, he served as president pro tempore between 1889 and 1891. Penrose was elected to the United States Senate in 1896, serving from 1897 until his death in 1921. Found in collection.
