DescriptionClock from Tic Toc Restaurant. Clock case is constructed of brown wood with black painted wood architectural elements. Middle portion is the clock compartment with a door that opens outward; door is secured on left side by fish-eye swivel hook and has two hinges on the right side. Door has opening on front and the clock compartment has two glass window panes on sides. Clock structure, gears, bell, and pendulum are brass. Clockface is silver-tone metal with black numerals 1-12 and maker's marks. Back is unfinished wood and has two paper labels adhered to center with manufacturer and product information.DimensionsHeight x Width x Depth: 29 × 13.125 × 7 in. Bottom label is green with black printed text "A BOA REGULADORA / FABRICA DE RELOGIOS / FUNDADA EM 1892 / J. CARVALHO & IRMAO, L. DA / VILA NOVA DE FAMALICAO - PORTUGAL / 9. NOV. 1951 / INSTRUCTIONS... / TO REGULATE... / MADE IN PORTUGAL".
Historical NotesClock used as decoration in Tic Toc restaurant at Kaufmann's Department Store. Part of a collection of artifacts that document the downtown location of Kaufmann’s (became Macy’s) department store. This large collection of items was field gathered from the downtown location of Macy’s (formerly Kaufmann’s) after the store’s final closing was announced in the fall of 2015.
