DescriptionTurquoise felt women's hat with peacock feathers under purple veil netting. Netting is gathered in a band around the hat and tied in a bow at rear of crown. Brim is narrow, but is wider toward the front of the hat. Interior is unlined. Two brown plastic combs are attached at the temples. The sweatband is made of blue grosgrain ribbon, with a narrow band of blue velvet at the front.Dimensions2.5 x 9.5 x 25.9999 in. (6.4 x 24.1 x 66 cm)
MarksTwo labels are attached to blue grosgrain ribbon on the interior crown:
One reads "Chanda", the other reads "Forecast / Kaufmann's / Pittsburgh".
Historical NotesPart of a collection of hats. Donor Nancy Page has been collecting and displaying historic hats for many years. Most of the hats were sold at local retail stores or made locally.
