DescriptionBrown velvet women's hat with band of diamond rhinestones under the brim. Interior is unlined and there is an oval shaped stamp on the crown identifying place of manfacture. The sweatband is made of brown grosgrain ribbon.Dimensions3.5 x 8 x 25 in. (8.9 x 20.3 x 63.5 cm)
MarksThere is an oval-shaped stamp on the crown of the hat, it reads "Made in Italy".

Two separate fabric tags with embroidered text on the sweatband:
The larger label is rectangular and white and reads "Kaufmann's / Fifth Avenue Pittsburgh / Custom Made."
The second tag is smaller and has the number "23" in an oval.
Historical NotesPart of a collection of hats. Donor Nancy Page has been collecting and displaying historic hats for many years. Most of the hats were sold at local retail stores or made locally.
