Historical NotesClat donated by Mark Schuster. Part of a collection of material related to the sport of Balf. Invented in 1993 by the donor, the sport blends elements of baseball and golf. It is played on a golf course but uses no tees. Instead, the player begins by hitting the ball with a modified bat called or clat, then plays the ball on the ground using a clutter – a blended bat and putter. Perhaps the only sport invented in this region, Balf is now played in leagues around the country. The collection includes a clat, a clutter, 2 balf balls, and a selection of photographs, brochures, and articles.
