DescriptionT-shaped caulking mallet. Cylindrical head is wider at center and a lengthwise split along center. Head has two ferrous metal rings around the body at center and two around the ends. A cylindrical wood handle penetrates through the center of the mallet head and widens near the base. Handle has a wood stopper peg to secure the mallet head to the handle. Handle has split at top end and strip of fabric is visible within the split.Dimensions16.625 x 14.875 x 2.625 in. (42.2 x 37.8 x 6.7 cm)Historical NotesCaulking tool belonging to Wesley P. Bost. Bost used the caulking tool on his riverboat home on the Monongahela, located close to the Point. Bost worked on the river as a harbor boss for the Campbell Transportation Company.
