Not standard issue for the U.S. Army.Label TextBorn in New Kensington and educated at Margaret Morrison College (now Carnegie Mellon University) Stephanie Kwolek invented Kevlar while working as a chemist at DuPont. This vest, used by American Special Forces, has protective plates inserted into the vest to enhance the protective properties of the Kevlar.
