Historical NotesWedding dress worn by donor Susan Broome's great grandmother, Isabella Heron, who married John Carpenter in 1874. John Carpenter purchased his family farm from his father, and raised his family in the log house on the property. The Carpenter (Zimmerman) family lived in the log house known as the Carpenter Log Cabin. In 1958, it was dismantled after being purchased by Allegheny County to create Boyce Regional Park; the log house was then rebuilt at Fort Pitt for Pittsburgh's Bicentennial celebration. Thirty years later, it was restored in its original place, just in time for Plum's Bicentennial in 1988.
