Historical NotesThis ribbon was made to commemorate the General Marquis de La Fayette's visit to Pittsburgh in 1825.Label TextThis lapel ribbon honoring Lafayette was reportedly worn in Pittsburgh during Lafayette’s visit to the city in May 1825. Lafayette’s entourage traveled the Monongahela by boat to Braddock’s Landing to tour the 1755 battlefield, and then proceeded north by land into Pittsburgh.
