Historical NotesSoccer jersey worn by Peter Merovich when he played for the W. W. Riehls soccer club, circa 1950. Peter Merovich was from Castle Shannon. Sponsored by local attorney Walter Riehl, the W.W. Riehls soccer team competed against other coal mining community soccer teams in the 1940s and 1950s. Merovich was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 1971.
