Historical NotesA McKeesport High School football charm. A starting defensive end by his senior season in 1959, Joseph M. Ivcevich played for coaches Harold "Duke" Weigle and Charles "Ding" Schaeffer, for whom McKeesport's Weigle-Schaeffer Memorial Field is named. Though the Tiger football teams of Ivcevich's time did not post undefeated records or win championships, many of the boys, including Ivcevich, parleyed their high school football experience into collegiate careers.
