Iron is cream-colored ceramic base with printed floral design around base with hinged, chrome lid. Paper ticket depicts a woman holding up two platforms of buildings with a cityscape behind her head. Historical NotesThis waffle iron was on display at the Westinghouse exhibit from 1933 to 1934 in Chicago, IL at the World's Fair entitled A Century of Progress International Exposition. The ceramic bottom of this appliance was produced by Hall China in the design is called "Fuji." This design epitomizes the Art Deco styling of the 1920s and 30s. Donor Richard Beaty's father was the paymaster for the employees at the fair and he bought the waffle iron when the exhibit closed.
