DescriptionDress comprised of bodice and skirt.
Bodice. Silk. Beige. Embroidered pink flowers with green stems; yellow butterflies. Cotton lace on short sleeves. Very long ribbon tails on back, attached from bow. Metal hooks on inside, proper right; cotton loops on proper left side.
Skirt. Silk, corduroy, cotton lace. Beige. Oddly stitched, and bunched in several places. Lace attached on bottom front hem. Metal hooks on both sides. Tie, cotton, from front, ties in back. Inside of bodice has been conserved with cotton(?) material, stamped in blue, "Starflex" for support.
Historical NotesDonated by George and Marguerite Westinghouse’s great granddaughter Valerie Lawrie. The gown, said to be Marguerite’s, appears to be quite cobbled and may have been used, according to the donor, in an “Antique Gown” modeling show.
