DescriptionPlastic toy streetcar with red body and beige roof; movable plastic antenna in center of roof. Light front and back of car. Possibly used as a bank: slim rectangular slit on roof, and square opening on base. On sides: miniature advertisement boards for Heinz ketchup featuring Heinz graphics. Base: plastic wheels. Box top is a dull yellow with an artistic rendition of streetcar, in color, printed inside oval on object's outside top. Grey foam attached to inside top. Box bottom is dark orange with grey foam mold for streetcar (removable).Dimensions9.5 x 2.25 x 10.5 in. (24.1 x 5.7 x 26.7 cm)

Historical NotesA miniature Heinz streetcar given as a gift to new shareholders in the Heinz Company in 1989. According to informational card found with object: "The streetcar was a very familiar sight to Pittsburghers at the turn of the century. / In use at that time as a special car that ferried people to and from the busy / H.J. Heinz Company factory on the city's North Side. / This car also served as a moving advertisement. On its sides were colorful handpainted / billboards depicting the famous Heinz 57 varieties trademark. / The original streetcar that inspired our unique model is on permanent display at / "Station Square," a converted P&LE train station, located in Pittsburgh / We hope that this miniature streetcar will find a special station in your home for many years to come. / H.J. Heinz Company".
