Historical NotesA groundbreaking shovel used by donor Carol Brown at the groundbreaking for the downtown O’Reilly Theater and Allegheny Riverfront Park, parts of the Cultural District, on April 23, 1997. The donor served as the head of the Cultural Trust in Pittsburgh for its first 15 years and oversaw the transformation of the Penn-Liberty Avenues corridor of the city into the theater and cultural center of town.
