Historical NotesBottle of white wine commemorating the city of Pittsburgh's 250th Anniversary in 2008. This particular bottle is named "Point Blanc" in reference to Point State Park, which is at the tip of Pittsburgh's "Golden Triangle." This is the area where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers merge to form the Ohio River, and also where Fort Duquesne and Fort Pitt once stood. Palate Partners and Dreadnought Wines in the Strip District entered into an exclusive arrangement with Sylvester Winery in California to produce Pittsburgh 250 Wine. The wines were sold with the names "Redd Up Red," a cabernet sauvignon, and "Point Blanc," a chardonnay. They were only available through 2008.
