Historical NotesMark Giovannitti was taught how to make wine in 2007 by his friend Rino Miglioretti, Jr. Both grew up in East Liberty and their fathers, Joseph Giovannitti, Sr. and Rino Miglioretti, Sr., were friends and sometimes made wine together. Mark’s father passed away when he was young, and he didn’t get the opportunity to learn the craft. Rino Jr., a third-generation wine maker, taught Mark and his brother Joseph Giovannitti Jr. how make wine from several different variety of grapes and each year they buy their grapes together from Consumers Fresh Produce in the Strip District. The custom label on the wine bottle was designed by Mark’s niece, Ashley Giovannitti, a graphic designer. One label features brothers Mark and Joseph holding grapes.
