On one side is a section that opens with a circular loop pull and contains a calligraphic rendering of the Book of Esther attached with green string.Dimensions24 in. During the holiday of Purim, the feast of Esther, the scroll is read aloud, telling the story of how Esther saved the Jews of Persia during the reign of King Ahasuerus. The megillah belonged to Henry Posner, father of the donor
