Historical NotesDress worn by Annie Guinan at her marriage to William Quinn, June 20, 1899. Annie was born in County Tipperrery, Ireland. She later worked as a domestic servant for the Havemeyer family in Connecticut. William Quinn was also born in Ireland but met Annie in Connnecticut; he had lived in Pittsburgh before that time and the couple later returned to Pittsburgh after their marriage. The dress was made by dressmaker in New York as a gift for Annie from Havemeyer family.
