Historical NotesAshtray from Williams and Company, Inc. Williams and Company began in 1907 by Harry Williams with a 5,000 investment. Williams and his two employees delivered cut pipe to Pittsburgh area customers via wagon, trolley, and on foot. In 1909 Williams bought out his initial partner and adds Monel products to what was originally just a carbon steel tubing line. In 1928 Williams began a distribution agreement with Alcoa to distribute their aluminum products. In 1953 Williams opened an office in Louisville; he already had existing offices in Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Toledo. Williams & Company merged with Tubesales in 1998 to form TW Metals, both companies were owned by The Superior Group at the time.
