Historical NotesHeppenstall Company, a steel manufacturer, was located in Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania. It began in 1885 as Tretheway Company; in 1890, it was incorporated in Pennsylvania. The name changed to Pittsburgh Shear Knife & Machine Company in 1896, and again in 1904 to Heppenstall Forge & Knife Company with changes in leadership. When C.W. Heppenstall became president in 1923, he changed the name finally to Heppenstall Company in 1930.
