Historical NotesAmateur boxing medal won by John Anthony Mitchell, grandfather of the donor. Born in Glenwood, PA, in 1897, John Anthony Mitchell was a local amateur boxer who competed in and around Pittsburgh. He earned this medal at an amateur boxing tournament held at the Majestic Athletic Club in McKeesport in 1915.
