Historical NotesHeinz Worcestershire plastic bottle, the first Heinz product to be packaged in a plastic container. This 1968 polyethylene bottle was designed by Henry Saenz, Heinz's manager of packaging design at that time. The decision to move into plastics was driven by the packing department's efforts to keep the product line fresh and economical. Plastics also had the advantage of being non-breakable. Heinz was moving away from the keystone label shape at this time which this product also demonstrates.
