Historical NotesAllegheny High School football jersey from their 1972-73 season worn by the donor who was a senior that year and played full-back/defensive back. Allegheny High School was closed in the mid to late 1970s and the building was changed into a charter school. It is still in the North Side, near the Aviary, and as of 2014 is the Pittsburgh Allegheny 6-8 charter school. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The jersey was collected to document the many city high schools no longer in existence that were consolidated in the 70s and 80s. Ostry had given the jersey to his high school girlfriend who returned it to him a few years ago. The Allegheny team made it to the play-offs that year but lost to Carrick at Three Rivers Stadium.
