Historical NotesThis jersey belonged to Bill Cowher when he played football at Carlynton High School in Crafton, Pennsylvania where he graduated in 1975. He wore this jersey in the early years of his career at the school. As a senior he was selected honorable mention All-State in football. Cowher also excelled in basketball and track at the school. After playing college football at North Carolina State, he began his NFL career as a linebacker with the Browns in 1980. In 1992, Cowher was chosen to succeed the legendary Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll as head coach, a position he held until 2006.
