BiographyAbraham Ohringer was one of six siblings who immigrated to Western Pennsylvania from Austria in the 1880s. He settled in Braddock, Pa., where he started Ohringer Home Furniture Company about 1911. The company built a large store and warehouse at the corner of Braddock Avenue and Seventh Street in 1941. The building was the tallest in Braddock at the time. Ohringer later opened branches in McKeesport and Greensburg before selling his company to a New York furniture concern in 1957.
